I'm hoping that there are different colors available to differentiate fuels, I would hate to swap accidentally and contaminate the fuels. If not, I will find some heat shrink tubing for marking purposes.

Red electrical tape / yellow electrical tape... mark each as appropriate on the grips.

Flammable liquid pumps (as opposed to non-specific transfer pumps) are normally produced with Intrinsic Safety Intrinsic safety - Wikipedia, because folks need protection from themselves.

Pumps, lighting, public safety radios and other tools and devices necessary for working in and with hazardous environments follow such practices.

I use them too. But don't last long at all. I will go 2 a winter just fueling up a kerosene heater in the garage. Had them bad right out of the box. And once they touch gas you can't take them back. So test them in water first and you might be able to return to the store. Otherwise "you" have to send back to the manufacture. But they're cheap. But kinda garbage.

I have something similar and love it. Runs on 2 "D" batteries and has auto shutoff. Got them on Amazon for under $30 ea. Bought two.

I have a little fueling station setup for diesel but needed something for gas. One is in the garage for the snowblower and one in the pole barn for the rest of the stuff.

I turned this one on dry for just a split second, and it ran fine. Is it really important to test one in water, or was my method just as good?

I got one of these "shaker" siphons at a local boat place. Works like a charm. No sparks, no batteries. No sucking either.
