Interesting... Being only 5'5", the one thing I dislike about my 2305 is that it's still a small stretch to pushing the go pedals all the way with the seat moved fully forward. **** you tall people!!

After an agonizing week of studying, shopping, looking, trying, test driving, and talking to dealers, I bought a new JD 3032E today, will pick it up tomorrow afternoon. My recently sold old reliable was a Kubota, and I had full intentions of going orange with the new one, but I just couldn't get used to two things--the controls (I hate, hate, hate heel & toe HST pedals), and the fact that Kubota STILL, after all these years, doesn't seem to think there are any Americans over here over six feet tall that drive tractors. Every orange compact I tried had cramped leg room, and I got tired of looking under seats to see how I could modify them to move back further. I'm not huge, just 6' 4" and 230 lb, but my size 14's just couldn't live with the pedal and seat arrangements on Kubota compacts.

I also had figured green compacts would be too expensive for me, but as it turns out I really liked the 3032E a lot, especially the "twin touch" pedals and the extensive leg room the adjustable seat affords. I can live with the two-speed hydro and the non-detachable loader setup, since I do most of my mowing with a big zero turn anyway. Plus, the 3032E just seems smoother and easier to drive, and the configuration of the 305's cast iron loader frame partially makes up for its non-removeability by not having a bunch of braces and crap in the way of getting to the engine from all sides for maintenance. A nice surprise was the price, which turned out to be $300 cheaper around here than the best I could do on a B3300SU package, complete with grille guard and drawbar. And I took advantage of Mr. Deere's pot of money with a zero interest loan. All in all, I'm a happy camper, can't wait to pick it up tomorrow!

Fantastic post explaining how important it is to to sit on these tractors and decide which tractor fits best.

Welcome to Green, post up some pictures and take a break....let the tractor go to work for you.!!

For many years, the Japanese built cars trucks designed with the impression that all Americans were about 5'5' and motorcycles like we were all 6'2 minimum. I had to tip toe on about every Japanese bike I ever owned and finally bought a Harley.

Funny thing is, some Kubota models have plenty of room behind the seat to extend the adjustment another 2-3" without interfering with anything, with just a simple extension of the sliding tracks/stops for the seat mount. That, combined with a two-pedal HST control, would probably have had me picking up another orange tractor this afternoon instead of green. But then, maybe Kubota is doing so well it's not worth it to them to spend extra engineering money accommodating tall operators with big feet.

Small Mahindras have plenty of leg room, so SOMEBODY in Japan must be listening. Ha.

I just bought a L2800 instead of 3032e (orT1510)

I'm 5'8" so the pedals on the JD seemed hard to reach

The Kubota fits my short squatty frame well and my size 11 feet really like the HST pedal on it. Has been real easy to learn to use it. The step and hand grab make mounting the beast easy for me.

Nice to have so many choices and it's been fun tractor shopping

Congrats! :D Nice tractor. I too looked at the 3032E and the Mahindra. I chose Deere, 2520, for a lot of reasons but previous experience with the dealer had ALOT to do with it.

Ok, as requested, here are a few snapshots of this thing fresh off the trailer. Man, I like this little tractor. Of course, I've only owned it a few hours. Ha.
