Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Finally, some snow pics!

We finally got a decent snow today, 6-8" of nice powder, perfect for out playing, er, I mean working on the tractor.

I bought the FEL snow blade at the end of last winter, found a great deal on ebay and couldnt pass it up. This was the first chance I've had to really put it to work. And let me tell you, a FEL snow blade is one of those things I wish I had gotten years ago!!! Unbelievable how much easier it was to clear all that snow.

That is a nice setup and good pictures. I'm hoping in another year to have a plow for the front of the Kioti. The snow that was expected here must have ended up in your neck of the woods.

FEL plow does make the job easier also quicker,also cut down on play...opps work time.

I noticed the chains on the front in one picture. Is this a good practice or could it void warranty? I have a Kubota B7500 and they do not recommend filling the front tires. I used to plow my own driveway with a Cub Cadet 105 and know how the front end can slide sideways when pushing. Chains would likely help that.

If you do a search here, that seems to be a pretty controversial issue. I havent found anything in writing from JD that says not to use front chains, and the dealer said it was ok to use them. You might check and see what our dealer says. I put them on to help reduce the plow pushing the front end around some, and glad I did (I had to flip tires around for the chains to clear the steering arm).

Thats John Deeres' QA that clips onto the loader arms. My neighbor has that setup, very sweet ! I-Match I guess.

'Couple of feet, 6 foot drifts. Took about three hours to get from the barn to the road. Good times in the yellow seat. Really slow going uphill into those drifts - chains would've been nice. Felt bad for a farmer that lives up the road - he was helping my "bad" neighbor our and got his big Kubota (with a cab, 4WD, loader) stuck. Kind of a bummer when a nice guy helps a jerk out and then gets his junk stuck...

Thanks guys. Yep, std JD front blade with the QD setup. This setup really rocks. If I need the bucket to get thru a drift, or if the snow has turned to ice, less than 5 min the blade is off and the bucket is on. Cant beat this setup with a stick.
