NH TC40DA w/all options except ss
After about a month of lurking in the background here, I've finally decided to join the group. Just wanted to say hi to all of the members here, and especially to the NH members of this great site. I recently purchased a NH TC 40 DA and this website, and all of those who contribute to it, helped me make my tractor purchase decision. Over the years I've owned several makes and its nice to be at a point in my life now where I can own a brand new tractor. I am a Maintenence Supt. at the former Quonset/Davisville Navy base in RI and we do some serious mowing with three NH tractors with 10ft field mowers. We also have three Kubota zero turn mowers that are excellent machines. I decided on NH because of the track record of our mowers at work, plus everything I've absorbed reading the postings here. I tend to agree with most of the members here in the opinion that all of the top brand tractors are good durable machines. I also feel the the aftermarket machines can be a viable purchase for those who just can't afford the big brands. Without getting too longwinded, I just wanted to introduce myself and hope I can be part of the regular NH gang.

Pete, when do we get to see pictures of your tractor? And some of those 10' mowers you use at work might make for interesting pictures too!!! Glad to have you on TBN by the way, I use Blue & Orange too. There aren't too many of us that play with both colors, good to see you seem objective about the brands.

Now it seems to me there was somthing about Seabee's and that base. Maybe someday I'll get to visit.

Welcome aboard.

Thanks for the kind words Bob. I'll have to work on those pics,,,thats for sure. I do think all of the tractors out there can do the job well. I'm not one for bickering about which is better. Its kind of like when I was a kid and the other kid said "My Dads tougher than your Dad" Kind of pointless and silly really.

Small world huh Larry !! We have a Sea Bee Museum on the base. Do you remember where the Chapel in the Pines was? Well, thats the are where all the memorabilia is stored. My boss is a former Sea Bee himself and curator of the museum. They have an open house every year and it draws from all over the USA. They have every style Quonset hut that was used set up on the grounds. Its pretty cool. If you ever get out this way,,,,I think you'd enjoy it.

Hey Hazmat! Great to hear from a former Rhode Islander. Two guys I work with have sailboats and love it. I went once with friends on the Cape and its very quiet and peaceful. Right now we are doing some Homeland Security work at the Davisville Piers. Alot of perimeter fencing, closed circuit cameras, and additional lighting. We have car ships that come to port here two or three times a month. We also have to plow the piers in the winter time. Thanks for saying hi. I've been out Tiverton way a few times. Very nice area, thats for sure. Talk to ya later.

Just wanted to say HI!

My Dad was in the Army and worked as a helicopter mechanic and crew chief in Quonset for years. He and the rest of my family still live in RI and I get back there often. I'm in Kentucky now.

I always try to say hi to folks from Little Rhody. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
