Looks like you are off to a good start on a new workshop. That is very exciting! You are right about steel prices being very high. I used steel poles in my pole barn workshop and they were pretty expensive.

between each upright we put lengths of 1" box section between them to screw the sheeting to

once all the sections had been placed between the uprights it was time to lift the trusses. On each end of the trusses we welded 8 inches of 1 1/2" box which would sit into the 2" uprights. This left it very easy then to weld

once the three trusses were up it was time for a test of strength. The brother decided to do his monkey party piece. it held him no probs which was a relief

hadnt got a big enough ladder to put the welder so some improvisation had to be done.im sure a safety officer would have a field day with me
