After 4 years of no FEL you might realize that the tractor is still pretty functional. You might notice I am without a FEL and my tractor is still functional. Only time I "had" to lift something was when I was taking an extra implement home. I just used my homemade boompole (about $50) and loaded the BB in the back of my truck.

You can always finance it later through your bank, credit card or JD. But like someone mentioned, I doubt you will get zero interest on just that. But your dealer should be able to answer that in a second today.

Enjoy!
Rob

the main thing i wanted the fel for is to push branches, brush, etc out of the way as iw as bush hogging. my place seems to grow fast as you can blink your eye! keeping up with 700+ acres is a job in itself so i dont have time to cut very often. i figured it would help just to help keep the front of the tractor in tact and free of debris. my older tractor had front weights and they helped alot with doing this! i didnt get the front weights on this tractor because i didnt need them, well i havent needed them yet, as the front of the tractor seems to not feel light at all since i have MFWD. i MIGHT use it to grab some dirt sometimes or something, but not very often. riding around on my place, youll see a branch, limb, or tree fallen down and i figured if i had the fel i could just push it out of the way. i will tell ya though, this thing will pull like a mule with his butt on fire! my dealer told me it was going to be night and day compared to my other tractor and he was right! i favor the JD PowerTec engine WAY more then the Yanmar that was in my old tractor. just sounds better, smoother, less vibration, etc. i never thought of a fel on my other tractor, simply because i figured it might be useless since it was only 27hp, 2WD, and very light. with this tractor now though, i've doubled that in size and figured i could get more done. my bank has terrible finance rates for farm equipment(11.9%) and i only have a $2,300 limit on my credit card and never come close to spending anywhere near that. not to mention the finance charges would eat me alive. i'm sure Deere's rates would be alot better. i wasnt expecting to pay 0%, but figured i could live with maybe 4.9 or so.

Wait a minute, back up the poor wagon!! :D Dude you have 700-acres and you are worrying about a few thousand for a FEL? Man sell off a few acres and move to town. This from another poor mouth talking here!! :D :D ME!! :D

Actually I'm half kidding and half serious. I don't have any other details on your personal situtation but just some food for thought. Land around our weekend place (a massive 1.93124532-acres!!) is sky high right now. 30-acres of chopped up branch fingers filled, bottom of the hill, only about 5 -acre area to put a house and not much timber, not much game...but a nice pond, sold for $3500 an acre. This is real rural area stuff. Pick a back corner out of the way, away from the house, etc and sell a few acres. Get a real tractor to handle 700-acres. I would only sell just what I need and try and hold on to the rest because as a neighbor says they not making land anymore. But property can go up and down and a time to cash is in when it is high. That 30-acres I mentioned above sold for $500 an acre in 2002. Who would have thunk it.

Good Luck,
Rob

Did JD offer 0% @ 48 months for the 03 series? Is that the financing that you received with your new tractor - RollingsFarms?

I'll bet that you could still work out a way with your dealer to add the loader to this purchase. If you're gonna ask them about financing the FEL at a later date - I'd be askin' about right now!!! Likely add $75 a month to your monthly bill --

I doubt that the paper work has made it to JD's financing group, yet. It took over a month to get things lined out with JD credit when I bought my 110.
