Have a 6 ft Land Pride - 3 blade - well built. Using a 35 hp JD820 to pull. Wish I had sprung for an 8 ft machine. Well pleased with the cost / performance. Be sure you can get replacement belts and blades off the shelf. Local Land Pride guy doesn't stock anything. Normally you won't need parts very often - I have a very rocky 4 acre lot to keep nice. Merry Christmas, Steve

I have used my MX6 rotary cutter behind my 820 and it handled it well, you should not have a problem with a wider rfm.

I've got a King Kutter 72 inch rear discharge. It's been very reliable and leaves a very nice finish. Just remember whatever you buy to keep it greased. Makes all the difference in reliability.;) Oh my bad it was $1300.00 brand new from our local Fleet Farm store.

Man it's to bad we don't live a little closer. I have a woods 5' that I got in July of 07 and haven't used it much at all. I don't think I used it at all last year.
I'm going to sell just because I don't need it. I use a woods rm990 and I have a 10' also.

i got a used 6 ft bush hog brand side discharge for 900 i think and have seen them for as little as 700 . as long as its not been abused theres nothing wrong with a used rfm. i had rather have a used qaulity mower than a new elcheapo .

I bought this Frontier/Woods 1060R from CL. On the off season a few yrs.back for 550.00. Just had to replace the drive belt that had a cut halfway through it before it did break. I just keep up with reg.maint. and keep the blades sharp with no problems what so ever.:D I would just try and get a reputable brand name. IMHO nothing is going to last long if it's just Abused Beat and Banged up.

I bought a King Kutter for $1000. Spent $800 in belts, wheels, spindles, idler pulleys, ect in 3 years of owning it. Total piece of junk.

I then bought a Caroni on sale at Rural King for $1200 and sold the KK to someone on CL for $450. I have spent $.20 on the Caroni in 3 seasons of mowing for one bolt that came out of the belt guard. Yes, $.20 is it. I probably would not have needed to do that if I payed more attention to it but it runs so smooth and is not like my KWK where I would mow for a hour and wrench for a hour. I went all summer with out doing one single thing to it. Best money I have spent.

What ever you do get a rear discharge. My Caroni is and my KK was side discharge. Much more user friendly being rear discharge.

I know others will argue that Caroni is not the best and KK is ok but its like a Ford and Chevy fight. I could never keep a Chevy running either.

Whistlepig, more details on the Caroni post. I no longer sell them, but when I did, I never had a warranty claim. I am curious about your experience.

I am in the process of trading my RFM for a belly mower. I like the RFM but the kids and the Mrs hate it and won't mow with it. I know more seat time for me but there are times when I need some help. If you lived a little closer I would make you a good deal on it for sure. I have a Woods RD60, used it one summer, very nice cut and a well built mower.
