A lot of people are morons. Just low brain power. This is why most bad things that happen in the world happen. A lack of computing power. With temperatures in the area well over 100 degrees for weeks on end and no rain, sure lets set of some pyrotechnics. Sounds like a good idea to me. Oh, lets have a gender reveal party. Sure why not. What could be more inane than that.

What is a gender reveal party?

Celebrated at an earlier stage in pregnancy than a baby shower, a gender reveal party announces whether expectant parents will be giving birth to a boy or a girl.

Often this will be a surprise for the couple themselves. At their 20 week scan - the point at which it is usually possible to tell the *** of the baby - some couples will ask the sonographer to write down "boy" or "girl" on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. They give this to a trusted friend or relative who organises their gender reveal party.

Guests often demonstrate their gender predictions by wearing pink or blue, then play games before the big reveal.

Although particularly popular in the US, the parties are a growing trend in the UK. Online retailer Party Delights reports an 87% increase in gender reveal-related products over the past three years and attributes the craze to social media and viral videos.

Managing director Claire Grasby says customers are "looking for ever more creative ways to celebrate a pregnancy".

Traditional reveals include a cake with blue or pink sweets hidden inside, a pink or blue confetti-filled piñata or a guest taking off a hat to reveal a pink or blue wig. But more dramatic and potentially dangerous announcements, including fireworks, smoke grenades and burnouts - are becoming more and more common.

I lived in Portland for 7 years. You can not imagine how different it is from the mid west where I grew up. I was born in Flint MI and I知 still waiting for my check for weaning on leaded water.

I could tell you things about Portland that you simply wouldn稚 believe. So I won稚. It痴 worse than you think.

I can say this......When I lived there, Portland was the #1 location for run away children. At the time it was also country痴 leader in child pornography. Kinda go together? The city fosters run aways and street people.

I have never been in a place where, generally speaking, the first thing outta most anyone痴 mouth is.....the govt should do something about this, or that, don稚 matter, always the govt.

Portland has a huge population of young people with nothin to do. Couple that with a general lack of any education, food stamps and moms basement and here痴 what you get.

Here痴 the best way I can describe Portland OR. Remember that movie, I believe it痴 called it痴 a wonderful life or something. Jimmy Stewart runs a savings and loan making mortgage loans to all the wonderful people in his little town. He痴 gonna commit suicide, the angle comes to show him what the town would be like had jimmy stewart never lived here. The town was called Potterville I think.

Bars, pawn shops, cat houses, general debauchery, falling apart, street people everywhere. That, IMHO, is a pretty accurate description of Portland OR. Oh yea, they have a rose garden.

This general ...LET THE GOVT DO IT attitude is lazy, stupid, pathetic and typical. I値l say it again, tell me one thing the govt does well. 20 years, I知 still waiting for 1 example.

I have a couple of found memories of Portland, the summers are nice.

My god,I知 currently watching the news, they are showing Salem Oregon, same, and these 20 something men are showing up with semi automatic rifles!!!!

Gender reveal parties can be dangerous in other ways too. I recently heard of a guy getting arrested at one. He was the only person that showed up without clothes on.
