Fire pump/hose to protect rural shop

Not a whole lot of point to me posting in a thread where people don't want to learn.

For the record I one time put out a huge forest fire with less than a cup of water. I peed on the cigarette some fool dropped before the fire got going!

If there is lots of water storage set up a sprinkler system to keep the outside of the shop wet as well as a firebreak area around the shop.:thumbsup:

Seems this forum may be my best chance for some good advice. I've been googling for a while about this without much luck.

I live in a rural area surrounded by wheat fields and I'm a part-time helicopter mechanic in my shop 200' from my house. My neighbor's shop just burned to the ground due to no firefighting capabilities and I am very concerned the same thing could happen to me-that'd be a very expensive problem. I have a private well with 4,000 gal holding tanks. I'd like to install some sort of electric fire pump with about 200' of fire hose so I could hopefully save my shop in the event of a fire.

Any ideas or suggestions on where to look for this sort of set-up? Any help would be fantastic. Thanks!

I was a volunteer for 20 some years if you were going that route I would sprinkler the building if its heated or you live in a non freezing area.
Most commerical systems control the fire with 3 heads.
A automatic system is the best in my opinion. what happens if you are away and a wild fire comes up or some oily rags start on fire (from another thread)
The residential systems are usually plastic and aren't as hard to put in as steel.
for the out side you can put a water curtain system to keep it wet to ward off the radiant heat
