I'd go with a bulk pile on your property that they pick up their own wood from and charge per PU load ( or stacked in rows and pay per row )

I have thought about this many times and wish I could do this, but...

First "my" property is way off the beaten path and I don't think many folks would make the drive for just 1 face cord. (most customers order 10 or more and the standard pick up can only hold about 1 face cord legally.) I can deliver 3 face cord at a time.

Second, the wood plots I am on now are other property owners throughout the area that just had their property logged and I am cleaning up the downed tops. I haven't asked all of them, but I doubt they would want a whole lot of people/strangers coming on their property. Lots of times I block up and split right into the delivery trucks from the remote wood plot and deliver right from there. Of course the closer we get to the wet season that changes.

I don't think bringing the customers to the wood will work very good in my situation. I have often thought about renting/buying a small town lot and creating a central selling point, but that just means more overhead.
