That's a beautiful piece of work! Any reason why your rear tires are on backwards?

Actually I went and had them filled (beet juice) and when I was going to remount them I had a little thought. The V pattern on a tire is there to clean-out the mud as you move forward, but in hard pack, rock, or loose sand/dirt, you get better traction running tires backwards (its from my buggy/offroad days (consensus proven)). Also if I do get into a muddy situation (only once so far)....I usually am smart enough to back out before it's too late....my tires work better in the mud going backwards...which means my stupid self driving into the mud can't get as far and actually have better traction to reverse and find a new path....

I'm a bit of an oddball who doesn't conform to much.....

One my best projects was to move and landscape 36-eightteen yard dump truck loads of sand, dirt, gravel, and loam all with this tractor loader and a landpride box blade.

I would love to get to work a boxblade that much.....I just use mine for some trail grooming....so much fun with hydraulic top and tilt!

I noticed the bolts, too. I like the hooks on both sides. I have only one mounted in the middle and sometimes I'd like to share the load to both sides. You mentioned shear load is bad for the bolts but aren't bolts pretty strong this way? It seemed to me that rotating or torquing the bolts forward would be the weak issue. What do you use for a backing plate on the bolts to handle the "bend over" force. It looks like the hooks swivel so you must have some sort of a stop on the bolt as you screw it down into the bucket.

A very interesting project. Nicely designed. But the pictures seem to show this is built very close to trees and shrubs and overhanging limbs. Isn't this a concern for heat exposure to those branches, limbs, and brush?
