Firewood sawhorse, saw crib, sawbuck....

After having a few short bar issues trying to cut up these slab bundles, today I decided to up the length on big Jon 2171 from 20"--24". That should do the 34"-ish, wide cut from both sides and then some, for some reason 18"=16", 20"=18" so according to that formula 24" should =22". I found the best deal at the Forester Shop, any good, dont know I'll find out.
As far as hardwood firewood vs, soft wood slabs, if one looks at the pictures on my garage heat thread, you can see that soft wood slabs gets hot on the quick side of fast. With 50+ bundles of sawmill slabs and only 15 acres of hard wood, why cut down more trees to heat the garage. If I can keep some waste from going to waste with the engineering of some sort of universal firewood sawhorse, it's a good thing in my world....
