Wow, what a beast. This thing makes my Case 580 SuperM look like a toy. Loving it so far. I'll try to get pictures tomorrow. I can't get used to the 4 equal size tires, feels like I'm running a Michigan loader lol.

The 4 wheel steer is even better than I thought it would be.

Doing a 1500 Cu ft rainwater retention system tomorrow, which is a joke for this machine, but a nice way to get aquainted with it. ;)

Builder,

Congrats on the new backhoe. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures of it too!!!

How are you hauling it? I'm sure it's allot heavier then the Case, and I thought the big drawback to the big backhoes like yours and the JD 710 was that they weigh so much more to haul around to jobs.

What did you do with the Case?

Eddie,

Thanks!

Sold the Case 3 weeks ago. Guy just made me a surprise offer and I knew I needed to unloaded for an older/cheaper machine.

The 115 is ~19,000 lbs, so it's not really that much heavier, maybe 1,000 lbs than the CASE.

I generally "road" my machine. If it's real far, I have a friend that can loan me a Eager beaver, or pick it up himself.

Congrats, Builder on your new TLB. Lookin' forward to seeing some pictures, too.

My neighbor with the S250 Bobcat just bought a 24K gooseneck for $4,700 and they installed the ball-hitch, too!!! The trailer weighs just over 6K; so, he's got a useable load of around 18K. He needs to feed one of those wood boilers that sits adjacent to the homesite and is plumbed into the domestic heating system.

Cut his heating bill by over 50% in the first year.

Point being, there's a whole bunch of good, used equipment trailers out there right now. (As if you didn't already know that....)

Might be able to get one in NH Yellow and Black..

Best of luck with your new machine.

yeah, there's so much to do and sooo little time. My kids are into everything and I coach 2 sports. I barely have time to look for more equipment and then maintain it.

I'd like to get an allison auto retrofitted into my 4800 I do decide to buy my own airbraked trailer instead of borrowing one. I hate shifting and pulling the backhoe while driving on these treacherous back roads around here. Need an ally with a retarder next. Then maybe a trailer.

Here's a listing on the equip trader of a LB 115 that was located near me but was pretty beat up. I paid less for mine and got one in much better condition with 5 backhoe buckets, AC and 4/1 bucket.

I'm not sure it weighs that much. My lb110 is around 17 or a little less. I have all the goodies, so if you figure maybe a thousand pounds for the big front end, it will probably be not much more than your Case. How do you like the powershift? You will also like the road speed. Mine does a hair over 40 kliks, and the euro spec ones do 50.

when I bought mine in 03, the dealership had two of those 115's. They tried to sell me one, but I was really put off by the big front end. Not that there was a problem, I had just never seen one before and I didn't want to be first. I guess every one else thought so too, because they sent them brand new to Richie Brothers and got 60 thousand each for them.

I bet the 2 front tires adds over 1,000 lbs alone. The ex hoe adds weight, The full cab adds weight, the 4/1 bucket & extra hydraulics adds weight. I have no doubt it's over 19K. Shoot, my puny Case 580 weighed 18,300.

I look at the big front tires as a disadvantage for loader visibility, but the 4 wheel steer and less tire ruts more than make up for it. My case front tires just shredded lawns. The 4 wheel steer turns this beast into a backhoe that turns much tighter than a normal backhoe. Plus I can go where other hoes can't possibly go with this thing. The ground clearance is almost double at the front axle.

I did a quick search to see what the listed weight of the 115.B was, but could only find the base weight as 9,500kg. It seems that there are allot of them in Europe. An online calculator converted that to 20,900 pounds.

Now I wonder what the base is and what, if any additional weight their might be?

My New Holland 555E is only 2wd with an open cab, and no other features. It weighs 14,000 pounds, give or take. Here in Texas, it's legal to haul it around with a one ton pickup truck. It's how the dealer delivered mine. My neighbor has a New Holland LB75.B with 4x4, cab and 4-1 bucket. I know it weighs allot more. Probably about the same as Builders Case 580 did. The dealer also delivered that and has picked it up for service with a one ton pickup truck and trailer.

It I was to haul that 115.B on anything, I'd use 11 tons as a weight for it, and plan accordingly.
