I like hot rods
everything I own seems to need to be faster or stronger or just better.
so lets talk about tractor hydraulics
I have basic knowledge of the system ( scary i know )
Heres my idea Replace the stock Hyd. pump with one with greater flow and pressure! simple right? will there be any improvement in lifting?
or replace loader rams with larger ones, slower yes but increase lifting right?

I know, I know you will bend the arms or rip the bucket off.
my 7308 loader maxes out at 1800 lbs stock and I have turned up the relief and can pick up around 2100 lbs now but can it do more?

Go ahead and laugh this one is on me

How would you figure out what larger pump would fit? my tractor is a tc30
Thanks
Happy New year!

My wife already beat you to it...

I think you need a bigger machine. You have already turned up your pressure to increase lift beyond the specified capacity. You will be throwing good money after bad trying to change the pump or cylinders-plus your resale value will plummet because of those modifications IMHO. The loader arms and front axle I bet are not cheap to replace...

I think Kenny hit the nail on the head...you've got your TC30 lifting 2100lbs. I think you are already flirting with disaster. If you are seriously considering putting more of a load than this on the stock tractor I think the result may be costly.

No laugh from me concern about saftey pushing it to limit,we have good idea what happens when theres a need for speed...yikes.

Please post some photos when you blow the front tires off when curling the bucket with this increased power. Just kidding, as Kennyd stated you asking for trouble, spend your money on a bigger machine or more implements.

You start hauling that kind of weight with a TC 30 and you'll be rebuilding front axles like crazy. Don't believe me, ask my buddy that bought one to pick field stone. He rebuilds the front axle assembly every year. That tractor has more welding rod on it than factory steel. It's 5 years old and it's trashed.

Okay hot rod. Here's what you're doing. Your TC30 is about like a 1970 Nova with a 350-2bbl, a slip-and-slide powerglide, and a 10 bolt rear. You want more power, you throw on a 4bbl intake. You're not happy with that. Now you dump in a nice 454. A short time goes by and the tranny pukes. So, you put in a nice TH400. Okay, then the axles fly out the rear like darts at the bar on dart night and the oil in the pumpkin looks more like a bowl of navy beans. So, in goes a beefy 12 bolt. Now, it launches so hard you rip the subframe connectors out. See where I'm going? Unfortunately, these upgrades aren't available for your tractor. It's a nice day dream. Leave it at that.

Oh, almost forgot. Like Steve Miller says, (did you know he has a band?) please, Please, PLEASE post pictures when you pull the pin and this thing grenades.

get a bigger machine. turning up the relief is turning down the safety margin.. prety soon you will just rip a casting in half...

Wearing hot hydraulic fluid isn't really fun... that's just the least of your troubles.

it's not hard to pop a hose doing stupid stuff at normal 2500 psi ag pressures... turn it up and it gets even worse..
