I like hot rods
everything I own seems to need to be faster or stronger or just better.
so lets talk about tractor hydraulics
I have basic knowledge of the system ( scary i know )
Heres my idea Replace the stock Hyd. pump with one with greater flow and pressure! simple right? will there be any improvement in lifting?
or replace loader rams with larger ones, slower yes but increase lifting right?
I know, I know you will bend the arms or rip the bucket off.
my 7308 loader maxes out at 1800 lbs stock and I have turned up the relief and can pick up around 2100 lbs now but can it do more?
Go ahead and laugh this one is on me
How would you figure out what larger pump would fit? my tractor is a tc30
Thanks
Happy New year!
A larger pump will give more GPM, and could make the cyl move faster, but if your valve is a smaller GPM valve, you will be limited. You could increase cyl size also. The reliefs are going to relieve at the pressure you set. Pressure on a new pump will probably the same.
Your tractor was designed for a certain load, with maybe a 10% overload.
If you used the beefed up system to lift larger payload occasionally, you might get away with it.
You risk damaging the front end.
As with race cars, you can beef it up until it breaks.
Just about anything can be modified and work well if you have the knowledge and capability to do it.
