kubota rtv900: kubota mx5200
Got a kubota mx 5200 the other day for doing firewood and bushhogging. So far so good. Has 5 hours on it and I am liking this tractor. Here are some pictures of the first hitch out of the woods. I estimate 1.5 face cords and took about 45 min to cut trees down, winch, and quarter mile skid to landing.

Great looking rig!

What chain saw are you using?

The one on the side of the winch in the one picture is a husqvarna 350, 18" bar. I also run 455 ranchers with 20" bars. The older 350 has more "zip" by far over the ranchers. I bet you I have cut close to a thousand face cord with that 350. It has been a good saw for me.

Did you get a 3rd function on the loader?

I really gave that one some thought, as I had plans on making a ss quick attach plate on my 3ph splitter and running it off the front of the loader instead of the 3 point hitch. Easier to hook up and drop and more options for splitting as I could raise the splitter over trailers or my dump truck to split the rounds. I also thought of a grapple for the bucket. That would be handy for lifting logs to block up. I opted not to get the 3rd function as I use a log grapple trailer to lift the logs to block up and I did get ssquick attach forks for the loader to lift logs as needed.

Good size tractor ray. I had a 100 acre woodlot once. With my small tractor (Mahindra 3016), a quarter mile would be my limit for skidding distance. If I had to do this often or for longer distances, I'd be thinking about a log wagon of some sort where you can "forward" more board feet or cordage at a time. I can easily understand your enthusiasm with your first "hitch". I'm almost as enthused as you and it's not even my tractor.
