Some of you may recall that I rebuilt the engine in my 955 over the winter. I've had it back together and running for a couple of months now, but it's been too wet out to do much with it. I did manage to rack up about 5 hours with using the 59 blower a couple of times and just doing some light tasks like splitting some firewood and moving it around to the stack by the house, motorized wheelbarrow, etc. This weekend was beautiful and the ground had finally dried out enough to do some dirt work.
Here's a little recap of the project I started last fall and had to quit when my engine gave out.
Today, I put another 5 hours on the engine giving it a pretty good workout. I cut the slope back extending it another 20 feet or so and turned the corner around the backside of the barn. I still need to cut & grade some more the backside as well as fill some on the low side. A big thunderstorm blew through this evening, so once again the project is on hold until it dries out again. In the meantime, I have a JD 272 RFM that I've stripped down to repaint and its gearbox needs a new output shaft seal.
