This is my first mowing season for my 2210. How many of you take off the 3 point hitch to mow? I have some ditch work I do and my hitch is dragging.

<font color="green">I don't take my 3 point hitch off.

What I do is make sure I haven't lowered the 3 point hitch more than I have to. The mower deck stops lowering well before the 3 point hitch hitch is all the way down.

Rob,

On the 2210 you have to have the 3PH link arms on to activate the MMM, although one poster has hooked up a separate hydraulic cylinder. It the arms are dragging on the ground don't lower them so far.

Ditto, I don't lower mine all the way either. You can set the whatchamacallit valve so the hitch lowers slowly to the mower stop then it almost stops, easier to catch it thataway.

I did some mowing yesterday. I just have to remember they are back there as you could do some damage backing into something. Like the others I only lower the arms enough for the mmm to position as I have some slopes to mow. Someone put short chains on the lower links to keep them at a certain height so you could do that.
What a difference mowing with this diesel compared to my X585 twin gas. The grass I cut yesterday was 6-12" deep and the 2210 had no problem plowing through this stuff with the same deck.

<font color="green">DJLX,

I know what you mean. The spreader rod between the lift arms on my 2210 ended up with a nice curve to it when one of my sons backed up into a tree while mowing. I now have a SpeeCo quick hitch on the rear so the spreader rod is history.

Attached is a picture of the chain stops I added to the 3 point on my 2210.

For those of you that are having a problem with the link arms and hitting things, here is a solution a poster on another forum, thanks Pete /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif, came up with. The only drawback is that the link arms need to be reinstalled for 3PH work.
