Thanks, Neil -- gosh, a compliment from down under! It sure was backbreaking and I almost made a joke about not getting the tractor, if I did so well without one. But, I can't wait to tackle more projects without killing myself. It's tough when your brain feels 25, but the body lets you know you're not!

A beautiful place you have there! I am working on some "trails" here in the hills of Kentucky with my new tractor (if it ever quits raining). When are you going to start building? Hope you get your new tractor soon to help keep it looking beautiful.

Thanks, Gary. Let me know how you are constructing your trails. As you probably read, mine were basically done by hand and the back still feels it. Awfully green donw in Kentucky; do you have any pictures? Share some techniques you are using and maybe I can incorporate them for the next series of trails planned.

We plan on building in the fall, with groundbreaking in September, hopeful that there will be enough time to get all the concrete work done before it gets really cold in late October up here.

I'd let golfgar hit some shags, if he'll mow the place until the tractor arrives! With the 48" deck on the garden tractor, it takes 5-7 hours to mow it; lots of trees to go around. And, I'm not mowing the full 8 acres. Thanks for the comment.

I see from your bio that you're a HVAC mechanic. Any comments on geothermal?

Thanks, Frank. I know it's pretty in NY, too. It's been fun getting comments from folks from all over. The truth of the matter is I was thinking about the need for a CUT long before I knew what the term meant! When we were living in the West we wanted an acreage and I started investigating tractors 5 years ago. TBN is where I've learned the most, however. As soon as we located this ideal spot, I got serious about the tractor -- when my wife watched me popping Viox for the back pain, she thought the tractor was a good idea, knowing how many more projects remain. (and NO, I wasn't faking!)

BlURRYBILL it sounds good if it can be done but in my area you have too go deep into the ground to get heat but cooling would work out ok it could be new age less oil or gas used in area we use cold city water now to cool some equipment if chillers shut down
