The BH-75 is listed with the B-3030 on the Kubota web site.I ran into the same thing when I went to buy mine.The dealer set me straight and I am very happy with the BH-75 especially because of the four point mount and sub-frame.My dealer said that the three point hoes do not come with a sub frame,which surprised me because the owners manual clearly says the sub-frame is required for a hoe.He showed me his Kubota book that he was quoting from and he was right.He did say that they had sold several of the three point styles before the BH-75 came out and never had any problems,but he strongly recommended the 75 and I agree that it is much stronger.
You do have to remove the threepoint arms to mount it and replace them when you change implements but it isn't near as much of a pain as you would imagine.I can change mine out in 20 min.easy.

Thanks Jim - it sounds like you and I were coming at it in similar ways. The list pricing info posted here: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-buying-pricing/103086-look-what-i-found-part.html gives a lot of detail that I'm sure most dealer guys couldn't keep in their heads if they wanted to and in this case is helpful in clearing up this backhoe question. I did NOT know that about having to remove the 3PH parts but it makes sense and you've made it something I won't worry myself over.

I have a friend who bought a used 3PH backhoe and has now put some 300 hrs on it himself doing an extensive rock wall design that's footed on a concrete foundation two feet deep. That backhoe still works for him but it's gotten very loose in all it's attaching points as well as having twice caused cracks in his frame where the bottom links pin to it. He's had to weld in extra steel around those and seems to be always having some trouble or another now. It's gotten hard to control with any kind of precision because it swings past where he wants it to stop in both directions. He knows he needs to rebuild the whole structure of it soon. So I didn't want a 3PH hoe if buying new, and it's a big reason for buying the B7800 instead of the seemingly similar B7610.....That dealer fella's more smarter than he looks! :D

I think you are geeting a good enough price. I paid US$16K for a B7800 with FEL, hooks welded onto to the bucket, block heater and Rimguard loaded rear tires. For $6300 the BH75 is a deal too

Considering the fact that the Canadian loony is almost at par with the greenback you seem to be getting a steal. I have practically the same machine except I have the 4672 BH. I paid $31,500.00 out the door, including our brutal taxes! I think my pre-tax price was about $27,000.00!! :eek:

Canadians get hosed on these things compared to our US brothers :(

One other thing.... anyone else suspect that the B7800 is about to be an outdated model? There's just one of them at the place I go and it's got a rough feel to the paint like it's been sitting there for quite a while.

If it's going to be superceded where is the discount like I'd get if buying a 2006 car from a new car dealership? Or is my head in the wrong place when comparing car dealing to tractor dealing?
With no crystal ball, the B7800 (of which I am an owner) may be replaced but I have heard no news about this. AND if it does get replaced, Kubota will replace it with a VERY similar model due to the success of this economy model.

All of the majors seem now to move a lot of units designed around bell & whistleless econ models:

JD = 790, 990
NH = TC30
KUB = B7800, Lxx00 series

The units have been big sellers for the most part with the TC30 being not quite as popular (although this is a great machine for the money).

I closed the deal on the B7800 yesterday. Tractor, loader, hoe, for $21,321.40 before 7.7% hateful tax.

I like it.

FWIW, I broached the question about the replacement of the B7800 moodel with thedealer. He said that he'd thought it was possible too but when their distributor had been talking about upcoming model changes some other models were mentioned but not the B7800.

I guess it's been a good seller since it's introduction and Kubota is the rare company with sense enough not to switch horses when they're leading the race on their present mount.

Congrats on your purchase hill! I know you will be happy with the B7800/FEL/BH combo.

Every so often I wish I had bought a L3130 for the extra size and weight.
I spent my weekend skidding fallen maple trees for firewood with my B7800 and it's just perfect for my needs; high ground clearance and HP, flexible and easy to move about in the forest. For the extra $5K a 3130 would have cost me I could have 80% of your BH.

Thanks Northland, I went every which-a-way over the purchase as I imagine most everyone else has too, and I feel like I'll count myself lucky to have grabbed a B7800 if Kubota does decide to do away with the model.

I've got some second thoughts today, though, as my wife found ways throughout the day to give me her thoughts on various seemingly extensive projects to modify the lay of the land here. I'd had no previous warning, really, as before having closed the deal she had been vague and indecisive when I asked for her ideas in order to help me justify such a purchase.

She called whoever agency you call for such things at 9:00 am sharp, their opening time I guess, to have someone come and mark out our power, phone, and water lines as soon as possible. (gulp)

All I could say was "Umm, you know I'll need some time to figure out how to operate this tractor don't you? as the only thing even remotely like it that I have driven is a tracked APC and that was almost 40 years ago"! LOL!

I think I may be in a little trouble here.....:D

ha! sounds like my wife-she thinks I should be able to move 4000 lb boulders, all in a row, and level down the bedrock Cambrian shield our property lies on.

You will be fine...slow and easy is best-remember safety first. I bought a R&B tilt meter off TBN and it gives me great comfort in my forest.

Consider yourself lucky that is all she has in mind........

so far......

Don't let her drive it, unless of course you want a second tractor....
