First Serious Project - Clearing 1.5 Acres

Ok Thank You. We have went into phase 2 of the clearing. Started at 8:30 am this morning. I will post pictures shortly this evening. Looking fairly good so far.

Phase 2 started this morning, Thursday 08-18-05, should make a difference today /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Equipment arrived this morning about 8:10 am and first tree fell about 8:30 this morning. This picture and the next picture is of the equipment.

I should be able to tell you that tomorrow. It is a CAT 953 with approximately 130 HP. . It sure makes easy work of clearing land. It worked about 4 hours total today and the rest of the 2 hours or so was cutting limbs and stumps off. Most of the limbs were taken off with the 941 which made the work go even faster. Here is another picture today. I would have posted more earlier but it came a huge thunderstorm this evening about 7:30 pm EST and possibly will stop any work for tomorrow because of the wetness. I really do not want the 941 working in there with it wet.

This machine was able to pick up the tree, stump and all. We picked up the stump end and dropped it several times to get the most dirt off we could so as not to lose any more than we had to. Then the teeth on the bucket took even more off. We didn't want to tear off the roots with the dirt is why we dropped them instead of cutting off the dirt with the side of the bucket.
