Straw has been delivered for the Fescue Grass Strips to help prevent washing. This will also do the strips down both sides for the road and across the bottom. 40 bails give or take a few.

Beginning to smooth out and become a nice area for planting. I am walking and inspecting the flag placement for good drainage.

Chicken Manure arrived today. I was expecting it tomorrow but I was ready for it. We will plow it in tomorrow (Wed.) Sept. 14, 2005.

This is a picture of the truck going back down the hill. It didn't seem to have any trouble at all. Thanks to Herron Cobb and his chicken houses... he donated the Chicken Manure, The Spreader Truck and brought it himself. He asked me to ride with him so I did. I was amazed how well the truck handled and that it did not have any trouble going up and down the incline of my Truck Patch.

This is some of the best fertilizer for new ground as well as fertilizing for the winter. After it is plowed in... I will plant the grass strips and the rye wheat for the winter crop to prevent washing over the winter and also help build the siol after it is plowed in at spring planting.

Chicken Manure Spreaded... We missed a few places so I'm off to get a pickup load to get them. I will spread it by hand. This work sure makes me sleep good. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

This is a picture of the truck as we close the gate and prepare it to go back. You will see the tractor in the picture as well. Last picture for today. I will post some of me spreading Chicken Manure tomorrow and plowing it in. Do any of you think that a cultivator would do the trick? Or maybe I should use my Chisel Point Plow. I will check tomorrow morning and see if any have suggested a specific tool to use.
