Using the Pulverizer on the Graden after plowing the Chicken Manure into the ground. The Lower half of the Truck Patch will be planted in Rye & Wheat for the winter to help prevent washing and to enrich the soil this spring when I plow it under.

On Thursday Sept. 15th, 2005... (tomorrow) I will plant the Fescue & Kentucky Blue Grass Strips and the rye & wheat in the planting area. I will be spreading straw on the Fescue & Kentucky Blue Grass Strips but not the rye & wheat. It should come up fairly quick since I have the Chicken Manure fertilizer plowed in. I will be watering it all since we do not have any rain in site for several days.

We were fortunate not to get Ophelia Hurricane Rains. It sure is beating the coast of NC. It hasn't made land fall as of yet. This hurricane has sure made the forecasters think about the forecast of hurricanes. The hurricanes seem to have a mind of their own this year. I know it sounds crazy but seemed to hear their forecasts and changed just to make them know who was boss.

By the way... the Purple Top Turnips, Sugar Snap Peas, Rattle Snake Beans, Bush Lima Beans are coming up now. I will have some pictures tomorrow of them. For some reason the Georgia Collards haven't started coming up yet except in a few places. I may have covered them up too deep. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Maybe they will come up in the next day or so.

Well on Thursday Afternoon Ed came after the tractor. Thanks Again Ed Land for loaning us your tractor. I had it all cleaned up and waiting for him.

This Century 2535 really did a Great Job. I found a dealer that carrys these near by. He said this tractor was 37 HP but Ed said it was 25 HP... anyone know for sure? I think one size larger would be best for my property. Does anyone know what size that would be?

I am in the market for a tractor like this or one size larger. I understand that the Century is a Korean Made Tractor like the FarmTrac. But for sure a tractor with the Shuttle Shift it makes the work go quicker and smoothly. I would always recommend the Shuttle Shift to any one with a FEL or that works a tractor in tight places.

Looking as the straw is being placed on the access roadway on left of Garden. You can see the grass strips coming off the access roadway.

There is a total of 55 bales of straw being used in this project so far. I don't think we will need anymore if my calculations is correct.
