Well I promised some pictures and even though I am later getting them here. I finally am. Sorry for the delay. I have been very busy.

This picture is of the grass on the left side. Which brings me to a problem I have encountered. On the main waterway the grass has gotten some sort of fungus I guess that killed it. but it did not effect this grass on the roadway on left side. I am going to post a few pictures to see if any of you have any ideal what happened.

Looking down from the Left Top... you can see where some of the grass has died. You will also notice I have finally gotten that tree that fell mostly cut up and removed.

The top grass strip survived so far. About 2/3's of the lower two grass strips, the main waterway grass and the roadway grass on the right side have not. I am wondering if the chicken manure I put on it caused it to get burnt up because the water concentrated it on these areas or if maybe a fungus started from it. The chicken manure was put on then plowed in. I am still not sure what happened because the grass came up and lasted until two heavy rains. Then this began to happen.

Now as far as the productivity of the Food Project. Here is a picture of the Curley Mustard Growing. It is doing better than anything I think.

Here you can see the progress as well of the greens. You can also see that the grass around the Big Rock... access road and the far right of the Truck Patch survived as well.

The garden is producing fair for a Greenhorn I think. I am sure next years will be better.

It needs plowing to get the weeds out. Sure hope my tractor gets repaired soon. The weeds will take over if not.

Your garden would surely make our Deer happy.

I've often wondered if block planting would incease crop area and reduce weedy areas?

I was hoping some deer would come so I could have some meat to go along with the green veggies. So far I have found a few tracks in the lower part but not where the green veggies are planted. I guess they are too close to my home.

The way I have planted has helped keep the weeds down but they would be less if I already had my tractor back. I plant rows wide enough to cultivate between them with tractor.

The grass areas should help give the deer something to eat rather than veggies... especially when I plant wildlife seed among the grassy areas.

Ok ladies and gentlemen. You have seen me at each of my posts in my leisure clothes. Here is a pic of me at my desk in my small 12' X 18' office. I try to keep it somewhat organized.

Well on Halloween... another plant here in Westmiinster, SC went down the tubes. They shut down Dunlop/MaxFli plant which employed about 1,000 people. They made Golfballs and such. Sure is a bad time of year to be out of work.

They say Hurricane Rita is the reason.... No Supplies or something??????? How? Nevertheless, they shut down another plant in our area and around another 1,000 people out of work.

It has been very cold in the mornings & days and I have been doing pressure washing to help make money to pay bills. Things seem to have slowed down to a crawl... but I am still working part time and still working on my Food Project. The only thing that seems to be wide open is the bills. Thank God for the growing food.

Good Mornin Jim,
I have read your post in amazement this morning! What a great service you are providing your neighbors in need. I also find this quite interesting that I should find your thread the day after I finished reading my churches monthly news letter. In that news letter, one thing that our minister listed, was to feed thy neighbor in need! You have put new meaning into those words! Thankyou for sharing and God Bless you!
