Just did my 5 hour oil and filter change.

WOW is that break in oil thin!

The book says that it holds 4 pints of oil. I'm not sure what they are talking about. I drained 2 quarts out.. and put 2 back in to have it full.

Went with Mobil 1 0W-30. I know.. synthetic is overkill.. But it's only two quarts.

FYI it's a 2518. 20HP kohler.

Just need some SNOW now.

Not to be a wise-acre, but 4 pints = 2 quarts. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Really..

I asked my wife.. And she is the smart one.

Guess I must have been thinking half pints... u know like those little ones that used to be a dime at recess time at school.

Tractor would smoke before at startup, with the synthetic in there now.. no smoke at all. That break in oil was the consistency of diesel fuel when it came out warm. I was really surprised.

anyway.. here is the new toy.
