I second that advice. Makes a huge difference;although it doesn't look as cool

I'm glad I checked back in here. I found a good deal on a 16x8 older JD, but I'm going to pass and look for 16x16 or a hydro. The local JD dealer doesn't really want my 2010, said I'd do better selling it myself. I may keep it for pulling the manure spreader and stuff.

As for the chute throwing snow really high, well my dad 'adjusted' it for me when he pulled it into the basement of his hip roof barn and the 3pt was raised all the way up. Now the chute has a sharp angle at the top and directs snow more to the side, doesn't look as cool, but it actually does throw it farther sideways and doesn't rain back on me as badly. Although the chute doesn't turn as easily anymore, no biggy I want to reconfigure it and add hydraulic rotation anyhow.

Hey wango, your one foot theory is off on the New Holland.
You have a 6.5 foot blower and only a 27hp pto.
By rights, you should be using a 5 foot blower.
I'm impressed on how that machine handles "that" blower.
