Re: First: The Land. Now, the house on \"The Land\"
Thanks, Golfgar. We designed with 4 foot overhangs. More expensive, but worth it for the sheltering effect. We have loved hip roofs for a long time. With large casement windows, we'll be able to leave windows open in a light rain -- we love the sound and the smell. In the house we are currently in, every time it rains one must close all windows; virtually no overhangs. Additionally, we love the look.
Could I build this thing without accomodating the tractor and implements!? I'll post a couple of pictures of the 24X30 second (tractor) garage. It is identical to the two car garage attached to the pavillion and then the house. The main garage is technically detached, although we designed the house so we'll never be exposed to direct rain. The pavillion and porch are both 18x18 and mirror each other on the NW elevation of the house.
