First time cleaning the inside of a tire.

Always remove and patch from the inside. plugs just force the injury larger. You can also inspect the inside to see how cracked, damaged, or ripped the inside is. Even low speed farm tires will rip up inside, seen this in many rear tractor and combine tires.

I had plugs handy. I don't have anything at home to patch with, and I wouldn't have had to break down the tire if the bead hadn't been leaking. Patches are better I'm sure but plugs are mucho easier.

I guess I'm lazy cause when I started having slow leaks with my old tractor (front) tires, I took them both off, took it to my friendly tire shop and had tubes put in them. He took the tires off, pulled old plugs, brushed the rims and installed tubes for a very good price. That was 10 years ago and I'm planning on letting them put 4 new tires on this summer.
