First time purchase - Kubota L3130 vs JD 4210

No problem - that's why we're here. The L3130 is a great machine (as is my 4310 /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif) - but if the deal is with Kubota you should be very happy with it.

Take Care,

TTT,

which dealer is this? I have been looking at K-3130 and JD- 4310.

I have not went hard on pricing yet, but the boss said we need the tractor in the first few weeks after we close on the 20 acre peice of property(should be 2-3 weeks from now). So who am I to argue, I'll be happy to let her buy me a tractor.

I just purchased an L3130HST, LA723 with quick attach, R4s and 3 remote valves. Came from a Houston dealer for $19,275. I passed up both JD and CaseNH because the local dealers are difficult to deal with and concentrate on the "big" tractors. The nearest Kubota dealer is 30 miles from me but he also seemed to cater to the "real" farmers. Also I have had a little Kubota for 20 yrs with minor problems and It was outside all of its life.

You can't do better than Kubota although another brand might fit you situation better.

Steve,
I had a great experience with Mark Hovey at Issaquah Honda Kubota. I shopped several dealers and he really was by far the best sales person I dealt with, both in value and information.

Thanks,

Issaquah, is out of the way but certainly it could be worth the trip.

Both brands are excellant, though I agree, the 3130 is a closer match to the 4310. You certainly would not go wrong with either, with the right dealer...

As to price, you can shop for a good deal on what you want. and I believe a bad deal to get a comparison. (I am NOT suggesting that you are doing this...) So, to be fair, if you want apples to apples quotes, go after a 4310 or 4410 and get your best quote, to know how they stack up.

Or don't! As the ever levelheaded _RaTmeister_ put it; you can argue advantages for either, and be thrilled with the one you get!

Have fun!

TTT,
If you deal with the Puyallup dealer, talk to Brady. He is the best salesman there. IMHO. When the local JD dealer wouldn't give me the time of day, Brady spent over an hour showing me the different tractors they had. That is why I have an orange machine. Kevin
