Ok, I'll probably remember you for the remainder of the week.

We try our best to do it right. We partner with others in this market who do it right...for parts, information, implements & loaders, and so on. And we intend to continue that manner of conducting business.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't buy a rebuild from Vietnam. Look out for low hour tractors (50-100, etc )hours . If going with 4x4 with FEL get the power steering .I have a 3110D (no FEL) it has ps. & it's a great option. As others have said, go with Wayne or someone he recomends & you should be in good hands. There was someone on the site that had a set of wheels made for R-4 tires from Hey wheel (I think it was). Wayne maybe able to help you with this also. Last ,buy the mod. with ROPS.
good luck

Phil,
Welcome to TBN. I'm sure there are more dealers in Ohio than what I've seen mentioned so far, but none would ever stand next to Wayne at LMTC. I found his website Little Miami before I went to see his operation. I was impressed. Although I didn't buy from him (I found another type of deal), I would if I was to buy another Yanmar again.
If you're in NE Ohio, it may be a drive, but it'd be worth it. Just make sure you take a trailer, you'll have a Yanmar to take home /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not neccessarily directed to the last poster but in general...
Thank you all!!! Very Much!!!

Sounds like LMTC is the type of dealer I am looking to do business with. I will PM Wayne and see what he has to say about all this and see if my budget will even allow me to move forward.

I have heard bad things bout the Vietnamese rebuilds, not just from this site either. I think I will try to stay away, though if I run into an unscrupulous dealer I have no way of telling if it is a Vietnamese rebuild or not, do I? If so please provide details of what I should look for.

I would like to look at the newer F series but the cost seems pretty high on most of the ones I've seen. I can almost get a 700 or 800 hour JD 4200 for what some of those F series Yanmars are going for!

okay looks like the ball is in my court again. I have to do some emailing and calling over the next week to see what I can turn up.

Thanks again and any more info is appreciated. I will listen to just about any point of view and I haven't made my mind up about anything yet. Close, but not yet.

I don't live all that far from you and if you get the snow like I do I would spring for a 4wd. no matter what model. I do ALOT of snow removal with my YM2000 and it works great. I bought a BerVac 60" snowblower and it works great. I don't think I could go any bigger though. I have had the snow up to the front bumper and it just chugged right along, even up hill.
I would look into a blower. I have a 2.5 mile drive and it is awesome.
I know, most people don't want to blow snow for that long looking backwards. I solved that problem by just sitting on the hood of the tractor by the gas cap with the steering wheel between my legs. Now I'm no longer going backwards.
It takes some getting used to steering that way but it works great and saves my neck....

Pictures please!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Hey, bet it keeps your back side warm too /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It does keep the backside warm but it also melts the snow on the hood and gets a little wet.
I will have the wife take a picture next time it snows.
I does draw a few looks from people. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Sounds like you have a price range in mind. If you said what it was, I'm sure you could get some recommendations in that price range.

When I was shoping for my tractor the local JD dealer had several low hr 790's and they were asking several thousand more for those than what I paid for my tractor.

this is just 1 example to look for . Something just ain't right here. A 20 + year old tractor with only 4 hrs on the meter ? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

That is not the safest thing to do, better to have your neck hurt than a lot more of you getting hurt. You don't have very good control of a tractor in that position. No brakes and not the best in steering either. You hit a hole, or some unexpected bump, it will be too late to get into your seat and make up for it. Just not using your head, no matter how cute you think it is.
