Hello TBN!
Earlier this year, we bought a house on a few acres. It was previously owned by an elderly couple who had it built over 40 years ago and took pretty good care of it. In the last few years, it became difficult for them to maintain. We have plenty of work to do, and we like it that way!
I've been shopping for a compact utility tractor since July. I've looked at several brands, but nobody had the right size tractor in stock. Any decent used tractors would be sold before I could call about them. I decided to expand my criteria to include older 2wd tractors, and I finally got one last Saturday.
It's a Massey Ferguson 3165 with a loader. It's very heavy duty and will have no problem doing what I need to do. It's far from perfect, but the diesel engine fires right up and purrs! The hydraulics are strong, too. I have some questions to ask in the Massey forum, but I'm very happy with it so far.
I did plenty of online research while tractor shopping this year. TBN is the best place I found for the nuts and bolts pros and cons of various tractors. Thank you all for your help! I look forward to your advice and expertise as a new member. Glad to meet you!
