I have heard a couple of different stories on one of the Cub models (I think 7500 series) lining up almost identically to the Mahindra. I talked to one dealer who said that the Cub 7500 was essentially the same tractor as the Mahindra 2615, 3015 parts interchangeable and all.
I talked to another dealer who said it was not. If you look at the tractors and the specs they look like the same exact tractor.
I said all of that to say, I know that Mahindra is building really good tractors and if they are the same as the Cub, I don't think you would be disappointed with the quality of a Cub if you have cash burning a hole in your pocket /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The Cub models that are now Mahindra are: 7200 (Mahindra 2015 gear), 7205 (2015 HST), 7260 (2615 gear), 7265 (2615 HST), and 7305 (3015 HST). Before Cub had the Mitsubishis they were under the Case International name in the early 90's. Those Mitsubishis sure get around. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No kidding! The Kubota has it all except the PS. I would like to have one tractor to do it all with. Once I build my house it will be mostly mowing with the occasional driveway maintenance and a load of dirt here and there. My B7300 has a FEL which is great right now but (I know someone will tell me you always need a FEL! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif) once the land is ready I won't have any need for it. I think with a 5252 Cub (or maybe a 5254 or 5234D) I could mow and still have a 3PH for a little boxblade work. That way I wouldn't have as much tractor as I do now.... I really won't need it down the road. Like I said, I really bought the tractor because of the price!
So here it is... I want to still have a "tractor" that I can mow with without tearing up my yard and still be able to spread dirt, rock, etc. I also don't want to take up the 14-17ft (depending whats on the back) of garage space that I do now! I want something thats gonna last and I would imagine almost anything would considering I will not be putting many hours on it. The Cub's just seem to fit those needs and are a little cheaper than the other subcuts like a BX.
Ohh well... this is still up in the air and will be a ways down the road. I just wanted to here some comments about CC vs. Kubota. I'm very happy with the Kubota and I don't want to take a big step back. If I wasn't so **** bent on having my own tractor I could sell the Kubota to my BIL who needs it and buy a ZTR for myself and then get a BIL deal when I need work done!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif But I can't go out like that... I GOTTA have my own!

Ha! Trust me... I'm not loaded! But I got such a good deal on my Kubota I have some room to play. I shouldn't have any trouble selling it for considerable more than I paid for it.

We are actualy able to sell the Cub compacts and are a large Kubota dealer. We don't even bother stocking the Cub 5000's because the differences between the two are so huge. The base models might save you some money, but watch out. Not all of them are diesel and 4WD.

I realize the difference between the 5000 series. Are you saying to watch out for all of them? I know Kubota makes a good product... but how about Cub Cadet?

I had the pleasure of visiting a dealer with the Cub 5000, Kubota BX and New Holland 24DX (might have that model # wrong) and Deere 2210 side by side...quite a thing...
Anyhow, I felt the Cub was very poorly designed. The tranny hangs down very low, and the hyd filter is completely exposed to debris/stumps etc. It seemed 'unfinished' down below, and lightly built. Also, the 3pt hitch and PTO seemed like an add on - they both stick out much further to the rear, seemingly causing the weight to be shifted back more than needed. Looking carefully at the 3pt on the deere vs. bota, they both seemed sturdy, but the deere had a bit more room to work back there...
I did not like the dash/controls on the new holland as much as the others, alough if I were in the market, I would dismiss the cub, and drive/price the other three. I already have one deere, and a dealer I like - so I would start there....
Anyhow, I was just in for parts for my mitsubishi, and the wife was giving me that 'step away from the tractors' look /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Oh, and for the record, the dealer carries the bota and cub lines new - the other two were slightly used (less than 100hrs) but it made a nice display..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

JayC, I am under the impression that those Mahindras are made by Mistubishi. Both the Cub and Mahindra are essentailly the same machine, both, I believe, are Mistusbishi tractors made under contract for the other two companies.

You are correct, Mitsubishi does make the machines for Mahindra now. Like I said, before Mahidnra, they were under the Case International name and then Cub Cadet. Mitsubishi now makes the 7500 series for Cub Cadet. One is a hydro (7532) and the other gear (7530) (synchro-shuttle I believe). I think they look kinda strange. lol I mentioned it before, a relative has a 26hp Cub Cadet TLB made by Mitsubishi. It is a nice machine. The 15 series Mahindras look unchanged from when they were the Case Internationals. Colorwise, I think they went full-circle; red/silver, creme/yellow, and now red/silver again. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
