Fitting size

My cylinder arrived yesterday. I picked up a fitting @ TSC for a test fit. The fitting says 1/2 male o-ring to 1/2 JIC male. The threads are 3/4-16. It fits. I am assuming that the "male o-ring" side is an SAE 8 going by my surplus center catalog. The JIC also threads in but I know it does not have the correct seal type. If I am correct in calling it an SAE 8 all I have to do now is get my list of goodies ready and figure out my lift pole attachment for my trailer mover. Thanks for all the replies, Matt
