Five inches of rain in an hour!!!

Glad to here all is o.k.

Sounds similar (not as bad thou) to our July 1997 flood here in Montgomery. The town was isolated for 2 days. The only way in was by foot.

Hey, Derek! I remember driving up that way a week later. What a mess!

Speaking of messes...last Friday the town finally brought some fill our way. Spread it out over our dirt road and said they'd be back on Monday to make the ditches. Only we got another two inches of rain this afternoon and all that fill washed out again! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Made it thru on the 4 wheeler. Looks like much of the fill on the paved road below is gone too, but not as bad as last time.

Tamara and I spent a couple of hours today helping an old couple down the hill clear their driveway of sand left by the last storm. The poor old man (in his 80s) was trying to clear nine inches with one little shovel! Took two hours with Clementine; not sure he would have finished the job in his lifetime! Anyway, after this last storm we drove past on the ATV and were grateful to see our repair job had held. Wheew!
