Well it looks like I've got a bad seal on one of the bucket cylinders on my loader. I noticed fluid gathered at one corner of the bucket so I took a closer look and there was fluid on the polished part of the left-hand cylinder. I'm a little surprised because the tractor/loader are only about 3 years old. Anyway, I don't know what I'm looking at here. Can I replace the seal? Is removing the cylinder pretty straightforward? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Replacing the seal is fairly straight forward...but run the arm completely out and check with a straight edge...usually when the seal goes the arm is bent...I replaced the seal on mine 3 times before I thought to check the arm...had to take it to the Hydraulic shop to have the arm straightened....cost $100 to straighten and rebuild the cylinder..

Garey,

Thanks - I'll check the rod to see if it's bent before I go any further.
