Thanks it's nice to know I am not the only one who is having this problem. I usually do ALL work myself, but I had to have this installed, blocked, electrical service inspected all by the end of May. I am usually very low key and try to treat people with respect, but every time I do that I wind up being taken advantage of. Example: the guy who we normally buy wood from has his own contracting company. He is an elderly guy who seemed straight foward and always came when we asked for wood (we buy 6 cords a year). We always invite him in for coffee and talk abut our families. So I have a good feeling about him and ask him if he would like some work in the spring setting my trailer. Sure, Spring come and he says he will be there, then no call no show. After giving him some aggressive phone calls he comes out and finishes the job. I am embarrased to tell you how much he charged to move 20 buckets of dirt with his Cat, compact the stone base that was already there, and but in a septic line to the tank, then set the home on block. I feel I paid him MORE than the going rate and was not satisfied with his performance. The good news is the electrical inspector came today and looked over my install of the new 100 Amp service from the pole to the breaker box in the mobile home. He approved it and now I have to get the town inspector out to make sure the blocking is to his satisfaction. I hope to get a call from him Monday as I only have till the end of MAY on this.
