Found an old Woods Dixie Cut brush hog on craigslist. Little to no rust but a leaky seal, very worn blades and cracked lift arm (which was welded on.)

Figured out it's a Woods M5-3 - was able to get the product manual from woods which was nice.

Got a new seal from german bliss - changing it was a pain but I think it was worth it rather than just sticking to grease.

Picked up some new blades as well as some school bus yellow paint from tractor supply.

Cut off/removed the welds on the lift arm, replaced it with some square tube and it now freely moves.

Overall really happy with the cutter, need to eventually figure out how to repair the slightly dented drive shaft though it seems to work fine for now just a bit of extra vibration.

Great Job! Should be well worth the effort.

I have one of those. Mine looks more like your B4 photo. Used to use it to mow our town ball park. The problem they have is no chains on the side. It will throw a rock or golf ball clear out of sight.
Dangerous design from an earlier era.
