Buying Advice Flail Mower for Branson 5220 CH

Thank you. Yes I am in Oregon. My dealer, Danielson tractor retired. So I may have to give Dave a call. I am not sure if the two rear remotes that came with the tractor have a float function. I am also not sure how that would compare to the float function of the 3 point itself in the case of this implement.

Well, bummer dude. I bought my tractor from Danielson's also in 2016. I didn't know that Bruce had retired. He did mention to me about a year ago when I was there that he had a buyer for his business but obviously we didn't get into that. Seeing that you're in Newberg, have you been over to the North Plains store. I've heard they were good to deal with but I have no first hand knowledge. North Plains is closer to me than Danielson's but dealing with driving across Portland is something I'd sooner not do if at all possible.

I have considered that type of mower for trimming and ditch banks. I expect that the need for a float function on the remote is for the cylinder that tilts the head.
When not carrying the far end of the mower head as in trimming but letting the mower flex up and down following the grounds changing contour will require the use of float
if you don't have it on your remotes you will need the optional kit for it, other wise the far end of the mower head will be locked in a position which will not be your desired mowing height.
