You are right, The mower was up to high. After talking to a man that cuts blueberry ground for a co. He told me to set the mower down lower. I moved the roller up ,and then tryed to move the skids up. After lying on the ground in 40 degree weather for over an hour in the dark using a flashlight to do this I find that the front bolt adjustment would not line up ,because the top of the skid hits the under side of the mower ,no way it well work unless the skid is cut to fit .Called the co. they said take the skids off !! I don't think much of that .I'm going to try and cut the skid down instead.
About the blades , the ones thay sent me was not forged and already I have bent some blades .

Skids really don't do much on a flail. Mine mostly snag brush and get bent. If they are in the way remove them at least for a trial.

Measure a good flail height and width, and if it is a round or elongated hole and get one close. Replace them as they go bad I would not do a whole set at once. It would make a difference if you were mowing grass but not when mulching bushes. Get a hardened or forged blade and they will last longer. Try flailmaster as they have an assortment of blades, if its not listed call them they are truly the masters of the flail mower!!
