Flat tire

I noticed this morning my tire was low on my Neon. This afternoon, I decided to check it. Noticed what may be a nail, so I took the wheel off and went to town. The only place on Saturday afternoon open is Wally World. I rolled my tire up to the attendant, and she asks the tire man to look at it. The nail is roughly 1.5 inches from the sidewall. They told me they could not fix it. Did not break it down, just said no can do. I thought I would try a tire place next week, but I have never been told a flat could not be fixed, unless it was in the sidewall. Will I be pricing a new tire? JC

Plug it yourself, it's pretty easy.

What was the reason they wouldn't do it ?

Tire stores are real skittish about repairs. Everything has to be by the book. My local guy blames it on all the recalls and won't risk the liability

I had a tire shop refuse to fix a tire that had a rather large hole right in the center of the tread. So I just doubled up and used two plugs. Buy a plug kit and fix it yourself. The tire shop doesn't want the liability.

I was under the understanding that they side wall was where they couldn't or shouldn't patch.
My dad got four good tires from his dealership workplace that had been ice picked.I patched all four inside with a patch and we ran them .
I believe its all liability when it comes to these things.And especially wally world and the like its easier for them to just say it ain't fixable.

Everyones right you should fix it yourself.either with a plug or a patch kit.You should have no problem if its at least anywhere inside the treaded part.

I religiously use the Wal Mart ones they don't even have to have the 'glue'.
In fact I can see me walking over and buying the plug kit and doing it right in the store.LOL

I use plugs also. Easy to do and never had one fail. Cheap too!
