Flattening PVC water pipe

I got a short piece of 8 inch PVC, cut it down the side, and tried to use a heat gun on it. I was trying to make a flat sheet. Got nowhere.
Put it in the oven on a pan, can't remember the temp but it wasn't much. It flattened itself out perfectly, used it to make a windshield and handguards for my streetfighter motorcycle.

I needed to bend a lot of PVC conduit for a barn I was wiring rather than spend a fortune on sweeps plus I needed a lot of custom bends. You can buy these electric "bags" to insert PVC pipe into to heat it for bending but me being thrifty, made my own rig up. I took three 500w halogen work lamps and fabbed up a triangle with them. I inserted the pipe in for a few minutes moving it in and out to heat up the desired length. Using various round objects to bend against, my custom curves looked pretty good if I do say so myself.

I used a weed torch to bend a piece of six inch conduit for a drain. Like mentioned, a torch leaves scorch marks.

I have seen electricians heat pvc by sticking it over the exhaust of their truck when the forgot to bring the electric conduit heater to the job. The exhaust flows through the center and heats the pipe equally.

That makes sense
