Flex Point Hitch System

( Since I keep a box blade on the back of my tractor most of the time, I bolted a hitch ball to the back of it. Have had no problems with it. )

My BB is usually on the tractor as well. Welded some box tube so I can swap receivers

I don't have a welder or much time, so often I have to buy many of the things you folks make. Having said that, the FlexPoint seems way overpriced. Mad River makes a good compromise at around $90 + shipping. You provide the 3-PH drawbar to complete the hitch. The Mad River does have the distinctive safety feature of being anchored by a chain to the tractor's drawbar to prevent the hazard of a rising trailer tongue (most 3PH's do not have down pressure). Just another option. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I had one made and cost me about $75-100 if I recall correctly. I use it to move my trailer as well as to adapt my 1 bottom sleeve hitch plow for plowing the garden.

Whenever I move the trailer I put the coupling lock down. I can do that from the seat, but have to get off to remove it once moved.

I am thinking of adding a ball to my loader bucket as well because many times in the summer when I am mowing and want to move my trailer I have my bagger on the back so this unit doesn't do me much good at that point and I typically hook up to the loader to store so I just drop it before mowing (besides it's much easier to remove the loader than the bagger on my BX!!! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif)

Major edit: I named the hitch company as "Mad River," when in fact it is "Bad River." Mad River makes canoes, but that's another discussion board.

Anyway, here's the link to the Bad River 3PH receiver hitch. It really is a different design than the Flex Point but has some advantages. Not the least of which is being less than half the cost.

Hmm....don't see the add here anymore.

Pete,
Thanks for the info, looks like a winner to me. Don't think you could make one for much less. I like the safety feature, even if you do lock the ball.
