There is a easy way to do it, but I can't remember!!

I think you either jack up the axle not flipped and it pops back with some pulling or pressure or put blocks in front or behind the unflipped one and use the truck to pull or back it back in place. Seems like years ago I used a curb to force it back.
I am sure somebody knows exactaly how to do it.

So far the only time my axles have inverted is when I installed an equalizer that was too short. It allowed the springs to flip very easily. I put a longer one on years ago and I have had no problem since.

i wish someone would post a pic of this. first time i heard of this was on here a few months ago. I have a tandem 16ft dovetail. i dont see how the axle could flip?

My understanding is that the shackles are what have flipped, not the axle itself, at least that was the case in my response. I thought I had a pic but I don't. When they flip one spring eye is above the equalizer eye (this is normal) and the other spring eye is below the equalizer eye (not normal).

I use a jack on mine. Happens with short shackles and going over sharp bumps like gutters or exposed culverts.

This happened to me the other day when I was working on the trailer, thus had it jacked up. The solution was to jack the rear of the trailer up so all wheels are hanging (tongue attached to truck for added saftey over the jackstand). Then lower the "good" wheel onto a block to bring the equalizer all the way towards it and give the offending shackle room to flip back over. Use a pitch bar to force the shackle the correct way. May need to lower the trailer or raise offending wheel to get it to take. I found it helped to have the opposite side tires free of weight as well to allow flexibility for this to happen.

This happened to me when I was re-wiring my trailer and had it completely in the air on jack stands. When I was sliding around underneath i grabbed onto the second axle to move and it dropped with a bang. Scared the **** outta me. It's not that axles have flipped, it's the shackle between them that has rotated it makes the second axle up in the air with the tires almost rubbing...It happened again to me with the trailer empty going over a hump in a dirt road lifted the rear axles in the air and the shackle reversed...

To fix it I put the trailer back on the ground and used jacks on both sides under the front part of the shackle and jacked towards the front of the trailer (ya know how a floor jack moves toward you??) with approximately equal pressure...the shackle will flip around and fix the axle heights when you get it jacked far enough...
