Loader Flipped my L48 Kubota

I don't know why but out 3 or 4 comments, this is the only one that made since to me.
Back in early 70s, I tipped over 1948-ish Case, no fire, broke the steering post, motor wasn't hurt, Father wasn't too up set. Tipped over brother in-laws late 1950s JD put put pot pot, love that sound, didn't catch fire and no damage, up-righted, started up in 10 min or so.

Now the pound sound, maybe it's just in automobiles, but I have walked by some cars and some pickups the ones with quiet exhaust, I had to listen close to here the engine running, but a diesel car or pickup, they always sound like there's a bunch chipmunks running around on a washboard inside, My L3400 is on the boarder line of warring herring protection.

Much higher compression on a diesel, so different pitched sound. That's some of it anyway.

Is this thread is a good selling point for gas powered tractors, not to mention gas motors are a lot quieter, just thinking out loud.

I really enjoy the sound of a diesel. I've been known to start my tractor even when there isn't work to do. I especially like the extended warm up times with more listening time. Yup, borderline crazy.

My guess is with the combination of the weight of whatever is stuck in the loader bucket and it raised up, along with no backhoe attachment on for ballast, the right rear tire may have crawled up on something and without rapidly slamming the loader bucket down it went over.

That, and going up that little five foot hill on a angle.

So I put the new head in. Getting a clanking noise, and possible miss fire. Hoping it is just a bad injector that may have gotten wrecked in that hydra-locked cylinder. If i do have to break then engine down, i guess it will be a good time to fix my hydraulic fluid leak from my main seal in the transmission. Been putting it off because you have to break the tractor in have to do it. I pulled the insert out on the head exposing the injector chamber and you can see the failure.

Clanking noise in upper end, or dull clanking from lower end. I wonder if you possibly cracked a piston with the hydro locking. Hydro locking is rough on everything.

I'd really look at that lower end post haste. Might have beat a rod bearing out or 100 other bad things. None of them get better by themselves, they get more expensive when ignored. I'd stop and see if I still had a viable crank...
