Now that CaseIH and NH are basically the same company you'll probably be getting filters made in Mexico. My wife bought 2 oil filters for the IH 686 last Fall and I noticed the cellophane was loose and the paint was chipping off brand new filters, looked on the side and it was marked Made in Mexico. I still have the oil ones, may cut them apart when she changes the oil again and see how they compare to each other.

Don't know how true it is, but when I was shopping for a tractor six years ago, the Case dealer I went to said that the tractors are almost identical, but LOTS of parts are made just a little different so they can't be interchanged. Of course he claimed that the Case was the "higher grade" tractor of the two, lol, but I'm sure the NH dealers say the same thing about blue.. Ended up with NH when the local Deere dealer with whom I thought I was going to deal had their dealership basically revoked out from under them.. Then of course, my NH dealer went out..

Many oem filters are WIX.

For equipment, most filters are Fleetguard. We sell Fleetguard on the side, they are great filters but not cheap. It varies, but sometimes its cheaper to buy the OEM rather than the fleetguard direct part. Hydraulic filters are a bear, on engine oil and stuff we're competitive with an autoparts store, and you know your buying a filter made for a tractor that runs an 80%+ dudy cycle, rather than a minivan at 10-15%.

It sounds like she's slacking. I'd make her cut them apart.

ACMan; Plus they cant get past the fact I'm asking about a tractor and not a car.

Not trying to hijack the thread but, AMEN to that brother!
I get so tired of going into one of the 3 autoparts stores here and asking for something very specific and the highschool kid behind the counter says, "What's it fit?" automatically so they can start punching computer keys.

Most times I respond with, "You don't even want to know." :D

Case in point.... I needed a 14mm fine thread nut to fit a head stud on a 1300 Ford tractor.
I know the only metric nuts that size that any one of the three stores here MIGHT have in stock would be a lug nut. So I go in, ask the kid for a 14mm fine thread lug nut.

"What's it fit?"
"Well, I'm going to use it on a head stud on a 1300 Ford tractor."
"Sorry, but tractor parts aren't listed in our computer system."
"Well then, could you pull out your Dorman catalog and let's look for a 14mm fine thread lug nut?"
"Huh? We have CATALOGS?"
