Sorry if I missed this, will there be a 96" model?

I am looking to replace my Bushhog branded Dirtdog MBX96 very soon.

Most definitely!

A couple things you all may want to consider are a place to store the pins when the tailgate is not locked in. For the locking tailgate you may want have the pins in location so they will not be pulled out by brush.

That's a good idea, Roger. I keep the pins for my Gannon in the toolbox of my tractor when the tailgate isn't locked, but it would be handy to have a keeper for them on the BB itself (especially for people who share the BB among more than one tractor).

I got the Gannon 4x2 HD. It uses bolts and can be used in 2 configs.

That's why I suggested a hinged plate latch. No loose parts to misplace or lose.

Here are the pics of the tailgate latching pins on my Gannon:

My Gannon had been beat completely to **** and all the way back before I got it, and the tailgate locking pins and tabs are not bent or damaged in any way. So I think it's a safe to assume that this mechanism is not prone to damage.

If you are going to use the same design for the retractable ripper optioned box, aren't those braces going to be in the way? Isn't material going to clog up around those braces? I would think that it would, I sometimes have that problem and I have no braces or gussets on any of my Gannons.

Just curious is all. :confused3:

The floating tailgate model will feature a 4x4 3/8" tube with the shanks mounted behind the tube like our current Severe Xtreme box blades. The side plates and the remainder of the box blade is like the Gannon SR, except our side plates will be 1/2" instead of 3/8".

The retractable shank model will feature a 5x5 1/2" tube across the front and no braces running to the back, which is more costly.

Doing it this way will give customers more models to choose from at different price points, because not everyone needs the fully decked out, big daddy model.
