floorboard high on L3000DT

i have found the floorboard a little high, at about 23in. my old TO-20 is about 17, and 3/4in.
yes it does make a difference when you are my age. so i am making a step to attach to
the tractor floor, so it will be easier to mount, and dismount. anybody else have this problem?

Bill, I had the same problem of a high step-up on a Ford 1910; the platform is 24" off the ground and my step reduced it to 18". Conveniently the rear loader bracket ( 1st picture) had a slot that was the same height as the underside of the rear axel with a small spacer (2nd picture). The channel iron I used is also a great to scrape the mud off your shoes ! Every tractor would be different depending what you got to work with. Obviously, I never take the loader off.
I don't know your age, I'm 62 but my knees are a lot older !

i plan to make my step from square tubing, this is easy to work with. plan to make a
weldment, and then bolt it on.
ps, i am 72, and i wish i had bought a new tractor 10 years ago.

Mr. Brown,

You may want to check with your Kubota dealer and see if you can order one already made as an option for your tractor.

I got the above right step and right fender grab handle from my John Deere dealer included in the purchase. An outright price for the kit from John Deere is about $60.

i can make a step from the material i have on hand, and for a lot less than $60.00
the pictures you sent give me some new ideas. thanks for responding.
