I had called ahead so that I could just pick up my order of 15 litres of Premium UDT (no Super in Canada), hydraulic and HST filters. While there, I decided to grab a litre of Kubota Dark Grey Enamel. I was bracing myself for the price of the UDT, so when the register rang up $200 (we also get to pay close to 15% tax in our lovely province), I wasn't too shocked. Then I looked at the bill - the paint was 62 freakin' clams. I understand that it's quality paint and amortized over the life of the tractor, not such a big deal, but come on. Someone from Canada tell me if my dealer is saving for an island in the South Pacific or if that's the going rate in the true north strong and free?

That's Crazy... Is there Anything actually affordable up there?

No we get to pay more for everything. Even stuff that is made here cost more than it does south of the border.
Just a little history lesson. Back in the forty's, through to the sixties you could buy a Massey Ferguson combine in England cheaper than we payed in western Canada. And they were made in Ontario. So now you know why us westerners that still have a memory would have separated in a heart beat.:confused2:

No!!!

That's why everybody I know within an hour of the USA travels south for gas, groceries, tractor parts, implements etc.

Example; bought current truck 3 years ago

2006 gmc Sierra 1/2 ton 4x4 ext cab

Had brand new pro comp A/t's on

One problem; I wanted white letters facing out so this meant taking tires off, turning around, balance and install

Started pricing things out $80+ tax $55 cash

Travel 11km south to USA and the guys behind the counter are arguing that the price can't be right as it seems expensive. After a few minutes of this I interject and ask what's the problem? Clerk says it seems expensive we are trying to figure it out!

So how much...$24 including wheels balanced with weights inside rim, stems etc. etc. ???
