Thanks for the photos, that helps. It could be the gasket leaking which I would consider a warranty item. Get some new cotton or paper rags and clean the area thoroughly to determine if it’s leaking at the drip or migrating from somewhere else. Keep checking the area until you find where the leak is originating. The photos will help you show the dealer where the problem is. Dont worry, you will get it sorted out!

Thanks

So I have a new Kubota BX 23S that I took delivery of two summers ago. It has exactly 100 hours on it and has never caused me any problems. I recently took off the mower deck and attached the loader and backhoe for winter storage in my garage, and have recently been noticing that I have a hydraulic fluid leak that is slowly dripping from below the tractor. I placed a piece of cardboard between the rear wheels and a small spot about the size of a 50 Cent piece has appeared over the past week. By looking at the spot in relation to the bottom of the tractor it seems like it is dripping from somewhere just behind where the drain plug for the hydraulic fluid is? Does anyone have any suggestions on where this may be coming from? Or should I just take it to the dealer? I have already tried putting a ratchet on the drain plug but it is so tight I cannot even budge it. The bucket on the backhoe has leaked down to where it is parallel with the floor. When this happens does the excess fluid get squeezed out from a valve that may be causing this leak?

Just wanted to post an update. So I just took my tractor to the dealer yesterday, and was told that this leak is covered under my basic warranty which is set to expire in July. I just wanted to let anyone interested know that if you notice a leak like this get it to your local dealer asap! If your basic warranty is still in force it will cost you zero out of pocket. The dealer told me that if my basic warranty had already expired this repair would have cost me $1,400 out of pocket, and takes anywhere between 12-14 hours to repair. Just wanted to give you all the heads up. Please take the time to look under your BX where the hydraulic drain plug is. If you see fluids leaking from the seal where the transmission case mates together get it looked at as soon as you can. It could save you alot of money!!!!! Hope this helps someone out there. Keep tractoring folks!
