Do I screw the dip sticks in or just touch the cases to check the fluid level?

Just rest the dipstick on the case.

Thanks norm, I should buy a manual I guess. Do you have a idea of how much engine oil it holds so I have enough before I change it. I hate to run get more of something to finish a job.

I believe Normde, the manual says let the dip stick rest against the threads, but do not screw in. I'm glad you answered him, as it made me look it up, as I have been screwing it in on my 1700. Now I know better. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
